My journey in Jiu-Jitsu began under the instruction of Mestre Renzo
Gracie back in '97 in Princeton, New Jersey. I am proud to be one of Mestre Renzo's
FIRST students after his arrival here in the United
States. Later, when Professor Almeida arrived I continued my development under his tutelage and guidance. Jiu-Jitsu is a
personal goal that is distinct for each and every
participant. Not everyone wants to become a World Champion or MMA
fighter.
Most Jiu-Jitsu practitioners are just looking to get in shape, learn
effective self-defense skills, build self-confidence and change their own
lives for the better. Here is the true spirit and essence of any
martial art...the ability to effect positive change on a person's life.

I began learning Jiu-Jitsu under the guidance and instruction of Prof.
Ricardo Almeida who I consider to be one of the best instructors in the
world. My ultimate goal was to train in MMA in my off time as a school
teacher. At Professor Ricardo's I met and trained with Prof. Brian and
we instantly became friends. When he opened his own school I came with
him to continue my pursuits in jiu-jitsu. Brian's style of teaching, a
balance of practical and analytical jiu-jitsu has helped me take my
training and skill to the next level.

In my 13 years of wrestling I have been a captain and leader of many
teams. When I became a part of the JBMBJJ Academy, I felt like a student
once again. Professor Brian breaks every little part of every move down to
make it easier for every experience level, which makes it comfortable
for everyone to come in and learn. Professor Brian and many others have
helped me to find my strengths and weaknesses and now I'd like to share what
I’ve learned with others. I believe that this is a great place to get in
shape, learn BJJ techniques, have fun and make new friends.
